Jenni Rivera, Iconic Mexican-American Singer, Dead at 43
Last night, Mexican authorities confirmed the death of famous norteño and banda music singer Jenni Rivera, in a plane crash after her recent concert in Mexico. “We thought it was press speculation. We wanted to believe that. But it’s true. My daughter is dead…” said Jenni’s father, Pedro Rivera according to HuffPost Voces. Jenni’s private plane, which lost contact with air controllers at approximately 3:30 A.M. on December 9th, was found in complete ruins in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Among the piles of rubble, various news sources confirm finding Jenni’s California Driver’s License, her publicist’s passport, and other miscellaneous objects. Pedro Rivera Jr., will travel to the area to identify his sister’s remains later today.

Jenni, who was recently divorced from her husband, wanted to keep her attitude positive for her fans. The night before her death, she told reporters at her press conference for her concert that she did not want to “get caught up in the negative because that destroys you. Perhaps moving away from my problems and trying to focus on the positive is the best that I can do. The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up.”
